Fibre optic attenuator

The optical fiber attenuator is used as an optical passive device for debugging optical power performance in optical communication systems, calibration calibration of debug fiber optic instruments, and attenuation of optical fiber signals. The product is manufactured using an attenuating fiber doped with metal ions to adjust the optical power to the required level.

Application of Fiber attenuator:
Optical fiber communication system, optical fiber CATV, high power optical device measurement
It is used to attenuate the input optical power and avoid the distortion caused by the optical receiver due to the strong input optical power.

The classification of Fiber attenuator :
According to the type of port, it can be divided into the following categories:
SC fiber attenuator: applied to SC fiber interface, it looks similar to RJ-45 interface, but SC interface is more flat, the obvious difference is the inside contact, if it is 8 thin copper contacts, then It is an RJ-45 interface. If it is a copper post, it is an SC fiber interface.
LC Fiber Attenuator: A connector for an LC fiber interface that connects to an SFP module. It is fabricated using a convenient modular jack (RJ) latch mechanism. (used by routers)
FC fiber attenuator: It is applied to the FC fiber interface. The external reinforcement method is a metal sleeve, and the fastening method is a turnbuckle. Generally used on the ODF side (the most used on the patch panel)
ST fiber attenuator: applied to ST fiber interface, commonly used in fiber distribution frame, the casing is round and the fastening method is screw buckle. (For 10Base-F connections, the connector is usually ST type. Commonly used for fiber distribution frames)
